The multi-platinum pop-rock band, 5 Seconds of Summer, arrives in Portugal on September 23, 2023 to perform live at Sagres Campo Pequeno as part of its World Tour 2023.
Tickets will be available on April 14th at 10 am, at everythingisnew.pt and at the usual places (Ticketline, FNAC, Worten, El Corte Inglés, and Sagres Campo Pequeno ticket office).
The quartet formed by Luke Hemmings (vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (vocals/guitar), Calum Hood (vocals/bass), and Ashton Irwin (vocals/drums) will edit their live album “The Feeling of Falling Upwards – Live from The Royal Albert Hall” in digital format on April 14, being available in stores on July 14.
The songs are taken from the band’s 2022 concert, “The Feeling of Falling Upwards”, at London’s world-famous Royal Albert Hall – a hall where 5 Seconds of Summer played on their doorstep when they moved to the UK in preparation. from the first album, 10 years ago. This show included reimagined versions of the band’s 11-year back catalog, previously unreleased songs from the critically acclaimed fifth studio album, “5SOS5“, accompanied by a 12-piece string orchestra and a 12-piece gospel choir.
“’The Feeling of Falling Upwards’ is simply the description of the feeling we experience together, the feeling of taking a leap of faith in something as fickle as music,” expressed vocalist and drummer Ashton Irwin onstage at the Royal Albert Hall, “ And [the feeling of] sharing this experience together year after year, season after season, of our lives.”
Since forming in 2011, 5 Seconds of Summer have released four albums and several hit singles. Quickly hailed as the “new greatest rock band in the world” by Rolling Stone, they are the only band in history to have their first three studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at number one. They have sold more than 3 million concert tickets during their various tours around the world and more than 13 million albums.
They recently joined Spotify’s exclusive Billions Club with their hit single “Youngblood”. The band has also been recognized with several prestigious awards, including ten MTV European Music Awards, five ARIA Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, and three APRA Awards.
