In their debut on national soil, the sextet, from Yorkshire (now based in south London), presents a style that lies somewhere between art rock, dance punk, and the best brands of the garage rock revival of the early 2000s.
Despite these influences, the band sound more contemporary than just about everything currently causing a stir in the British capital. Their second EP, Heat!, released last year, made it immediately clear that the band is on the rise (named by the acclaimed NME as one of the 12 must-see acts at this year’s Glastonbury) and could become the next big thing on the scene. Sonus Art Fest is back in Guimarães on September 30th. The second edition of the festival, promoted by the digital magazine Sound, promises to be full of concerts, showcases, and artistic exhibitions.
