About “Vice Versa”, the album:
“Vice Versa” appeared in the life of the Goose almost 4 years ago. From early on the first chords of the album arose from the desire to make music more moved and fast, to contrast with the previous album “No Tarda” (2019), which is of a slower and melancholy nature. This was the motto for the first ideas to come up in the group for a new album.
As usual in the creative process of Ganso, the music comes before the lyrics and only when the band already had a few almost-songs is that the first words appear. As the letters appeared, the group quickly realized that there was a narrative pattern that served as a principle for the rest to create: similarities that distance and differences that approximate.
About the process of creating “Vice Versa”, recorded during the summer in Paris at La Frette studios, João Sala, musician and vocalist of the band, says: “A year ago the Zizou Project was born (the name we gave to the dream of going to record in France). The objectives were three: to record for the first time in a studio not homemade and not rafe, to be recorded by someone with much experience, alien to our music and our musical environment and, of course, the romantic side of crossing the Pyrenees in a car full of instruments, towards a week of dreams and leaving behind the nostalgic cafés at 0,70€.”
“Vice Versa”, a record with the Cuca Monga label, has 11 songs including the singles “Papel de Jornal” and the latest “Fetiche Fonético”. The production was in charge of Domingos Coimbra (Captain Fausto) and Anthony Cazade (Arctic Monkeys, Nick Cave).
A physical edition of this album on vinyl is planned to be released in December, to coincide with the presentation at B.Leza in Lisbon.
