The best Portuguese Summer Festival is already very close to the head and heart of all those who will be present at MEO Sudoeste from August 4th to 8th, in Zambujeira do Mar. The confirmed names are very representative of the holiday spirit, which intends to feel at the Festival. The next confirmation fulfills this requirement perfectly: Ozuna, one of the main stars of Latin music, will perform on August 7, on the MEO Stage.
Ozuna is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter who leads the new generation of Latin musicians. Son of a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother, young Juan Carlos Ozuna Rosado grew up immersed in the cultural diversity of the Caribbean, something that would come to influence his vibrant musical style. From an early age he developed a passion for urban Latin music and at just 12 years old he ventured into composing his own music. At 23, things started to get more serious and he published two successful singles both on radio and on digital platforms: “Si Tu Marido No Te Quiere” and “No Quiere Enamorarse” were the first public proofs of the talent of this young man from Puerto Rico .
In 2016 he edited a remix of “No Quierse Enamorarse”, in collaboration with Daddy Yankee, and soon afterwards another successful collaboration followed in what would be one of the first great trap hits out of the Latin world: “La Ocasión”. In the summer of 2017, he released his first album, “Odisea”, which remained in the first place in the top of Latin best selling albums for 46 consecutive weeks. After launching the documentary “Música sin Fronteras” on YouTube (a biographical film, unprecedented in the world of Latin music), Ozuna edited her second album in August 2018. “AURA” once again dominated the bestselling tops and yielded concerts in Latin America, the United States and across Europe.
Despite having a career with only a few years, Ozuna has more than 105 nominations and 56 awards on his resume. He has collaborated with names like Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, Nicky Jam, DJ Snake, Cardi B, Selena Gomez, Post Malone, Snoop Dogg, Rosalía, Anitta, among many other stars in the music world. In 2019, he digitally edited the album “Nibiru”, which hits stores in Portugal in February 2020. “Baila Baila Baila” and “Amor Genuino” are singles that prove Ozuna’s excellent form and increase the expectation for even more the concert in Portugal, on August 7 at the MEO Stage, at MEO Sudoeste.
