The restaurants Paço dos Cunhas, in Santar, Quinta de Cabriz, in Carregal do Sal, and Quinta do Encontro, in Anadia, invite you to celebrate Valentine’s Day, for two days, with suggestions specially designed by the chefs of each space, harmonized with the best wines.

The signature cuisine restaurant Paço dos Cunhas, in Santar, run by chef Alberto Correia, invites you to celebrate love in an iconic setting, a reference in the region, rich in history and heritage. The special Valentine’s Day menu consists of five courses with wine pairings. For starters, accompanied by Casa de Santar Reserva Rosé, we will serve Shrimp Tartar, Watermelon Gazpacho and Vinegar Pearls, as well as Scallop, Carrot and Hazelnut Purée. Then comes Fish from Our Coast, Buerre Blanc of Cockles and Cauliflower Puree, paired with Casa de Santar Reserva White. Red Venison, Cheróvia, Currant Sauce and Trumpets are the meat suggestions accompanied by Casa de Santar Vinha dos Amores Touriga Nacional. To finish, toast to love with Moscatel do Douro, served with Warm Chocolate Cake, Popcorn Ice Cream and Marshmallows. The price, per person, is 70 euros (wines included). In Carregal do Sal, chef Hélder Ribeiro, who heads the kitchen at Quinta de Cabriz, has designed a menu that elevates traditional Dão cuisine. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, a Shrimp and Coconut Curry will be served, accompanied by Cabriz Sauvignon Blanc, followed by Grouper, Celery Purée and Passion Fruit Sauce, paired with Cabriz Touriga Nacional white wine. For the meat dish, we selected Arouquesa veal tenderloin with creamy mushroom rice and island cheese, paired with Cabriz Reserva red wine. To finish, Cabriz Ímpar praises the Dark Chocolate, Red Fruits and Moscatel dessert. The price, per person, including the recommended wines, is 65 euros. Global Wines’ latest suggestion takes us from Dão to the heart of Anadia to toast to love at the emblematic Quinta do Encontro, which has a new chef leading the team. Here the price is 60 euros per person and the menu, designed by Gabriel Távora, has as a starter “Batimento de Camarão” (shrimp carpaccio, poached shrimp, shrimp zabaglione and shrimp caramel) and is accompanied by the Quinta do Encontro Rosé sparkling wine. . Next comes “O Primeiro Olhar”, which is a tomato and basil soup, with a chopped base of sun-dried tomatoes, croutons and cream, to be enjoyed with Cabriz Sauvignon Blanc. “Ao Encontro da Paixão” is the moment that follows (salmon loin, asparagus sautéed with butter and thyme, pomegranate and mint couscous with pomegranate reduction), accompanied by Cabriz Branco Touriga Nacional. “Inocência do Prazer” (herb-crusted lamb loin, glazed baby carrots, wild rice, Vinha dos Amores reduction with cherry aroma and sweet and sour macerated cherry) is perfect to pair with Preto-Branco. To finish, we have the dessert “Na Quinta do Amor”, a white chocolate and lime mousse with lime gel filling, raspberry crumble, crystallized rose and strawberry sauce, served with Reserva Baga sparkling wine from Quinta do Encontro.
