Patrícia Mamona in the final of the triple jump

Patrícia Mamona, from Portugal, stamped her passport for the final of the triple jump at the Tokyo Olympic Games, qualification guaranteed in the first test where she recorded 14.54 meters, the second best jump in Grupo B, behind Thea Lafond (14.60).

In Group A, Evelise Veiga qualified by jumping 13.93 meters, best personal record of the year, in the first test. In the second and third rehearsals she made 13.63 and 13.57, always below the minimum (14.40) that were worth her presence in the final.
