Paula Rego participates in an exhibition with artists from 34 countries
‘Diversity United. Contemporary European Art ‘is the title of the exhibition, praising diversity, which is due to open on May 4, in Berlin, to show the vitality of current art in the countries of the European continent, from Portugal to Russia, from Norway to Turkey.
[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he exhibition, an initiative of the Foundation for Art and Culture – Bonn, a private German non-profit organization, founded in 1986 to support artistic and cultural projects, will bring together artists from various generations, genres and regions in Europe, focusing on themes such as freedom, democracy, migration, territory, personal and political identity.
In addition to Paula Rego, among the 90 artists of various generations and nationalities, with represented works, will be Anselm Kiefer, Adrian Ghenie, Gilbert & George, Antony Gormley, Manuel Graf, Boris Mikhailov, Yan Pei – Ming, Richard Mosse, Ekaterina Muromtseva , Ulla von Brandenburg, Sanja Ivekovic, Isaac Julien, Georg Baselitz, and Cristina Lucas, from Spain.
About 20 artists will also be invited to create new works, commissioned by the organization.
The artists represented are from or live in Albania, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Kosovo, Croatia, Latvia, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Switzerland, Sweden, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
