The Na Minha Casa Festival promoted by Casa do Artista welcomed Paulo de Carvalho, an essential name in Portuguese music, to the Armando Cortez Theatre for another concert to raise funds for Casa do Artista.
Paulo de Carvalho is part of the history of the country and of Portuguese music. The songs he gave to Portugal are unforgettable and all the fans who were in the Lisbon hall can attest to this. There were many moments when they sang along with him. at the top of your lungs.
In the company of the fantastic Cuban pianist Victor Zamora, Paulo de Carvalho showed all his talent and charm, in a musical journey, where we can hear, “O Cacilheiro”, “Lisboa Menina e Moça”, “Balada para uma Boneca de Capelista”, “O meu Mundo Inteiro”, written by his son, Agir, “Um beijo à Lua”, one of Paulo de Carvalho’s favorites, “Uma Cantiga de Amor”, “Caminho pra São Tomé” in homage to Cesária Évora.
Then follows “Mãe Negra”, part of the poem Prelúdio by the Angolan poet Alda Lara, “Meninos do Huambo” also sung by Ruy Mingas in Angola, which Paulo de Carvalho tells in 1985 sent the song by Carlos do Carmo to Paulo, With the show nearing the end we can still hear, “Calé”, “Gostava de Vos ver aqui” and “Nini dos meus Quinze Anos”. A memorable night.
The Festival ends on February 4th, you will also be able to see José CID (January 27th), Ana Bacalhau (January 28th), Carolina de Deus (February 3rd) and Marco Rodrigues (February 4th).
The Na Minha Casa Festival has a charitable component, with artists offering their proceeds to the Casa do Artista, thus contributing to the requalification of the Theatre. Tickets for the shows cost €25 and are now on sale at Ticketline and the usual locations.
