Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Paulo Praça presents a very special project: an album of duets, A Meias, which features some notable names in national and international music, female.
A Meias presents versions of some songs by musician Vilacondense sung by voices such as Sónia Tavares (The Gift), Mónica Ferraz (Mesa), the English Nicky Wells (known for her collaboration with Nitin Sawhney), Ana Deus, Joana Amendoeira, Lika (singer of Kazakhstan who lives in Portugal), Xana Abreu, Cat, Diana Martinez, the Galician Uxía, Patrícia Antunes and Patrícia Silveira.
The calling card of the new album was released in 2023, “Baloiço”, with Sónia Tavares, and won over several radio stations. A song composed in partnership by Paulo Praça and Gisela João. Along with the release of the album, the musician presents the single “A Minha Terra”, with the participation of the Galician singer Uxía.
A Meias includes new versions of themes that marked Paulo Praça’s career, such as “A Vida Começa Agora”, “A Sama Canção”, “Diz a Verdade”, “Arquitetura da Ecologia”, among others.
The album features production by Eurico Amorim and Paulo Praça, mixing by João Bessa and mastering by Mário Barreiros. The design is by Hélder Luís.
It is worth highlighting the collaboration of the writer Valter Hugo Mãe, who is the author of some of the album’s lyrics (“A vida begins agora”, “Diz a Verdade”, “À Força da Nosso Voz”, “Arquitetura da Ecologia”, “A Ladaínha ”), as well as being responsible for designing the cover of Paulo Praça’s new work.

Paulo Praça, singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer has collaborated with groups and artists such as 3 Tristes Tigres, GNR, Pedro Abrunhosa and The Gift. He was the founder of the groups Turbo Junkie, Grace and Plaza.
As a solo artist, he released 4 albums: “Disco de Cabeceira”, “Dobro dos Sentidos”, “Um Lugar Pra Ficar” and “Onde”. Most of the poems in his songs are written by Valter Hugo Mãe.
The protagonist of the “Amália Hoje” project, which sold more than 100,000 records.
He has recorded more than 20 albums in all the projects he has been part of. He has performed on all continents, having visited countries such as Australia, Canada, USA, Russia, China, Brazil, Macau, Morocco, Spain, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, the Netherlands among others and performed in mythical places such as Central Park in New York, or Olympia in Paris.
He was nominated 3 times for the Golden Globes, having won the Golden Globe in 2010 in the “Best Song” category with Amália Hoje.
He shared the stage with artists such as Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, Radiohead, Arcade Fire among others at Summer Festivals.
He has worked with some of the biggest producers in the world, such as Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Gomez, Kings of Convenience), Brian Eno (David Bowie, Talking Heads, U2, etc.) in an adventure that lasted almost 2 years.
