Activity promoted by the Water Pavilion next to Sea Life, in Porto, invites children and young people to wear the scientist’s coat and get to know the reality of a scientific research laboratory, discovering the world of water.
The challenge promises visual and sensory experiences that lead participants in different perceptions, between splashes of water and the smell of salt air. In the outdoor area of Sea Life, kids and adults will be able to participate in various recreational activities organized by the Pavilhão da Água, next Tuesday, August 10, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Under the motto “Experiences with Water”, the H2Out program at the Water Pavilion will allow young enthusiasts to wear the scientist’s gown. Curiosity will be fueled by two-hour experimental sessions, which will lead to discovering the reality of a scientific research laboratory and discovering the world of water.
With a set of games and activities, participants will be sensitized to the reuse of materials that at first glance are garbage and made aware of the importance of the oceans as a source of life. The program also includes an explanation of the urban water cycle, which complements and highlights the experience of different dimensions of water, recalling the techniques for reusing this scarce resource for new uses.
These actions take place within the scope of the Sea Life summer schedule, which has several invited entities and runs until the 14th of August. Participation in the activities will be free for anyone who buys a ticket to visit Sea Life until that day.
Additionally, the Water Pavilion, equipment managed by the municipal company Águas e Energia do Porto, continues to offer a set of online laboratories that allow the replication, at a distance, of experiences and pedagogical moments. The H2Online project is available for various age groups.
