Pedro Abrunhosa with a sold-out concert at Estádio de Gaia and with performances scheduled for Festival F, in Faro, and at Culturgest, in Lisbon
Despite having interrupted the tour of his last album “Espiritual” due to the pandemic, Pedro Abrunhosa never let his arms down and, from performances on television and social networks to the production of the single “Tempestade”, he cherished his close connection with the public while he was waiting for the return to the stage.
And, on his long-awaited return, Pedro Abrunhosa inaugurated the Drive-in concert format on May 23, at the Estúdio 33 parking lot in Leiria and has not stopped since. On 8 August, the Municipal Stadium of Gaia sold out, complying with all the safety rules imposed by the DGS.
Pedro Abrunhosa is now preparing the concerts to be presented in Faro within the scope of the “Noites F” of Festival F, on 23 August, and at Culturgest, in Lisbon, on 19 September.
The artist leaves a request to his peers: “in the last song I ask those present to collaborate with me in a game of inverted roles: the musicians would remain on stage playing while, line by line, starting with the last and ending at first, those present would leave the room until it was completely empty. In this way, we remain playing until the end, also generating an intense poetic moment. In front of an empty audience, we would then symbolically thank everyone who had attended the event, but also the technicians, room assistants, security guards and various teams assigned to the venue. Above all, it was a bow to the families of the 1750 victims, in Portugal until that moment, of the ill-fated Covid-19. I ask all my colleagues with scheduled shows that, in an attempt to minimize contacts, help the public to leave the enclosure in a similar way, or any other that they deem convenient, in the complex moment when everyone is headed for the exits. Thank you all.”
