Pedro Abrunhosa receives the Best Portuguese Album of the last 40 years for his album Viagens

In the context of the celebrations of the 40 years of Blitz, the iconic album Viagens de Pedro Abrunhosa was distinguished with the prize for Best Portuguese Record (1984-2023). This recognition, awarded by Blitz, highlights the importance of Viagens, which, thirty years after its original release, continues to mark the history of Portuguese music.

To mark these three decades of one of the most emblematic albums of Pedro Abrunhosa’s career and national music, a commemorative edition of Viagens was released on colourful vinyl, which is now available for all fans and collectors.

The celebrations of Viagens did not end here: last weekend, Pedro Abrunhosa sold out four concerts at SuperBock Arena, where he honoured the album with an audience that sang from beginning to end all the successes of the artist. In response to high demand, a new date was announced on 16 November. The artist will also take the stage at Meo Arena in Lisbon on November 23 for another show that promises to relive the impact and strength of this legendary album.

This award and the celebrations around Viagens underline the status of Pedro Abrunhosa as one of the most influential figures in Portuguese music, with a legacy that continues to inspire generations.
