The final of the Novos Talentos Ageas Award 2019 was played between Pedro Borges, the fado singer Rute Rita and the Maat Saxophone Quartet, made up of Catarina Gomes, Daniel Ferreira, Mafalda Oliveira and Pedro Silva.
The finalists were selected throughout 2019, by the public’s choice, in 18 concerts of the “New Talents” cycle. Pedro Borges is from Vila Nova de Gaia and started his musical studies at the age of six, at the Conservatório de Gaia, where he completed the 8th grade of piano with 20 values, according to the statement.
The Novos Talentos Ageas Award, a partnership between the insurance company Ageas and Fundação Casa da Música, aims to distinguish and encourage the work of young musicians aged up to 35 years, in all musical genres, in the areas of creation, interpretation and/or performance on stage, and promoting artistic projects.
The winner of the New Talents AGEAS Prize is awarded 5,000 euros and a silver trophy.
