Pedro Goulão is the winner of the 2nd edition of the Miguel Rovisco Award

The 2nd Edition of the Miguel Rovisco Award – New Theater Texts, an annual prize promoted by the Teatro da Trindade INATEL, was unanimously attributed to Pedro Goulão, for his text “Hora de Visita”.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Jury, made up of actors and directors Diogo Infante, Sandra Faleiro and João Reis, understood that the text reveals a solid narrative structure, well-designed characters and a current and consequent conflict, where bitterness and sarcasm punctuate the relationship between a father and one daughter.

A dramatic comedy that explores the complexity of family relationships, placing the characters in a limit situation, where they are given the opportunity to meet and redeem themselves. Their secrets and hurts are ghosts that have left their mark and shaped the choices they made during their lives.

The intelligence of the characters, the permanent tension, the consistency and the rhythm of the dialogues that keep us trapped, combined with the perfect adaptation to the space to which it is destined, Sala Estúdio, are the main reasons to reward this text and wish to see it put On the scene.

Pedro Goulão is a screenwriter. He wrote television documentaries, texts for theater, short films and sketches for César Mourão, Jorge Mourato, Óscar Branco, among others. In 2018, he published his first book, A Palmeira, under the seal of Guerra e Paz.

The author of “Hora de Visita” will receive a monetary value of 2500 euros, will see his text edited and taken to the stage in the 2020/21 Tea Season, from Teatro da Trindade INATEL.
