Pedro Jóia presents “Zeca” alive at Culturgest

Pedro Jóia is today one of the most priceless treasures of Portuguese music. In this concert he will present his most recent work, Zeca, edited by Sony Music and which remained at the top of the Portuguese Top for several weeks.

In addition to these themes, Jóia offers guitar versions of a repertoire based on some of the best music produced in the Portuguese twentieth century in which it explains all of its musical technique and sensitivity. Next to him, on stage, will be the percussionist José Salgueiro.

Pedro Jóia has an acclaimed national and international career that spans more than two decades. He made his debut on the albums with Guadiano in 1996 and since then he has continued to enrich a language that starts from the Portuguese tradition and seeks inspiration in the music of Brazil, Africa, flamenco and jazz, for the design of a highly personalized and original language. .

In his discography, Pedro Jóia paid homage to Carlos Paredes, explored the sophistication of flamenco and raised a sound that earned him the most praised and important prizes, such as the Carlos Paredes Prize in 2007 for the album À Espera de Armandinho.

Pedro Jóia’s mastery has also earned him the most diverse invitations and for this reason, over the years he has stepped on stages alongside great voices such as Ney Matogrosso, Gilberto Gil, Raquel Tavares or Mariza with whom he has traveled internationally since 2012.

He is also a frequent presence in concerts by the Resistência collective, a project that integrates important names of Portuguese music and that lives from the idea of ​​crossing the classical guitar with high moments of our pop songbook.
