On January 24th, the virtuoso Portuguese guitarist Pedro Jóia returns to the São Luiz Teatro Municipal stage in Lisbon for a special concert that promises to celebrate his career, talent and musical legacy.
Accompanied by renowned guests, including the Arabesco Quartet, famous for its excellence in classical and baroque repertoire, José Manuel Neto, one of the most prominent Portuguese guitarists, percussionist José Salgueiro and the internationally acclaimed American flautist Susan Palma Nidel, Pedro Jóia will present a repertoire that combines the most memorable moments of his career with his most recent work, Mosaico.
This concert is also part of a tribute to Carlos Paredes, whose influence profoundly marked Pedro Jóia’s career. On the centenary of the birth of the master of the Portuguese guitar, Jóia will revisit iconic works such as “Verdes Anos” and other pieces from the album Variações Sobre Carlos Paredes (2001). In this special moment, he will have the collaboration of guitarist José Manuel Neto, bringing to the stage the timelessness of Paredes‘ music.
