The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, today decorated several personalities at the Palácio de Belém in Lisbon, including former minister Pedro Lynce and actress Florbela Queiroz.
Pedro Lince, former Minister of Science and Higher Education in Government led by Durão Barroso, was one of the ones awarded by the President of the Republic.
“The head of state imposed the insignia of the Grand Cross of the Military Order of Avis to Lieutenant General Mario de Oliveira Cardoso, and of the Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry to the engineer Armando António Marques Rito and to the engineer Pedro Augusto Lynce de Abreu de Faria, “said an information published on the Presidency of the Republic’s website on the three awards ceremonies that were not previously announced.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also decorated the actress Florbela Queiroz and the singer Maria de Lourdes Resende, both with the rank of Commander of the Order of Merit.
The President of the Republic also awarded the Canon João Maria Félix da Costa Seabra, with the rank of Grand Officer of the Order of Prince Henry the Navigator.
