Pedro Moutinho returned to the studio at the end of 2022 to record CASA D’ÁGUA. This record will be divided into 2 acts, complementary to each other: the EP CASA, dedicated to Traditional Fado, which is available today on all digital platforms, and the EP ÁGUA, which focuses on songs and the exploration of new arrangements and sounds, with a digital edition scheduled for the end of the summer.
Both EPs will come together in a physical edition, even before the end of the year, to form a single work: the LP and CD CASA D’ÁGUA.
At CASA, the fado singer, who has never stopped feeling the pulse of Traditional Fado, goes deep into his ways to offer the public a raw record. He thus delivers the same soul and deference that he transmits every time he takes to the stage of some of the most prestigious fado houses in the city of Lisbon, or of national and international concert halls.
The fado singer, who has been exploring different sounds and modulations that fado allows, always with respect for his matrices, returns to a safe haven in this EP. CASA features musicians André Dias (Portuguese guitar), Pedro Soares (viola), and Frederico Gato (acoustic bass) and also has arrangements by Filipe Raposo for the theme Casa d’Água, a unique partnership with lyrics by João Monge and music by Amelia Muge.
This work also features unpublished lyrics by Maria do Rosário Pedreira, Teresinha Landeiro, and the recreation of the classic “Um Resto de Mouraria“, with lyrics by poet Carlos Conde, and music by violist Martinho d’Assunção.
