European Indoor Track Athletics

Pedro Pichardo the Portuguese-Cuban athlete was the winner of the triple jump event with the mark of 17.30 meters in European indoor track and field athletics.

Today Portugal won another gold medal in the European Indoor Track Athletics, after Auriol Dongmo in the launch of the weight, it was the turn of Pedro Pichardo to win the gold in the triple jump, in Torun, Poland.

The Benfica athlete, favourite to win, confirmed in the first jump of the final, of 17.30 meters, all expectations and took the Portuguese flag to the top of the podium.

Alexis Copello with 17.04m, from Azerbaijan, and Max Heb with 17.01m, from Germany, shared the medals with the Portuguese-Cuban athlete.

Portugal can still win more medals, now a triple female jump, by Patrícia Mamona who qualified for the final with a jump of 14.43 meters.
