Portuguese Otenist Pedro Sousa was defeated by the Italian Alessandro Gianessi, in two sets, and ended up eliminated in the second round of the ATP Challenger in Marbella.

The Portuguese number two and 111th in the world ranking failed to impose their theoretical favoritism over the Transalpine, who occupies 169th place in the same hierarchy, and was removed with the 6-4 and 6-3 partials , after an hour and 12 minutes of meeting.

Thanks to the triumphs against the Portuguese players, in the inaugural round against João Domingues and today against the 32-year-old Lisbon player, Alessandro Gianessi guaranteed his presence in the quarter-finals of the Oeiras Open I and a meeting with the winner of the clash between the Swiss Henri Laaksonen (134th ATP) and the Slovak Martin Klizan (161st ATP).
