Pedro Sousa qualifies for the ‘eighth’ of Guayaquil’s challenger

Portuguese tennis player Pedro Sousa, sixth seed, qualified for the eighth final of the challenger from Guayaquil, Ecuador, after beating Argentine Gonzalo Villanueva in two sets.

In the second round duel, Sousa, 127th in the ATP ranking, beat Villanueva, 406th in the hierarchy, with a double 6-2, in a match lasting one hour and three minutes.

In the round of 16, the Portuguese tennis player will meet the winner of the duel between Argentines Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Facundo Bagnis, which is scheduled for today.

Joao Domingues will also compete in the Ecuadorian clay tournament, but only goes into action on Wednesday.
