Pedro Sousa wins in Blois his sixth ‘challenger’

The tennis player Pedro Sousa won his sixth title on the challenger circuit, the first this year, beating Kimmer Coppejans in the final of the French tournament of Blois, played on clay.

Sousa, 122nd in the world ranking, was superior to the 165th in the ATP hierarchy, with the 4-6, 6-3 and 7-6 in a two-hour and seven-minute meeting.

The Portuguese number two was to lose 4-1 in the third set, but recovered and eventually took the decision for the tie-break.

Pedro Sousa, 31, is the sixth challenger of his career, having won in Pullac in Germany and Braga in 2018, and in Italy, Liberec in the Czech Republic and Francavilla in Italy in 2017.
