In the next term, the Association will represent the countries of southern Europe: Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Malta.
Performart – Associação para as Artes Performativas em Portugal is participating in the 65th Conference of Pearle* – a European federation of employers in the performing arts sector –, which took place in Oslo, Norway. Within the scope of the Conference, Performart was unanimously elected to integrate, in the next term, the Executive Committee of Pearle*.
As a result of this vote, Performart will now represent the southern European countries that make up the federation, namely Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Malta. Francisca Carneiro Fernandes – President of Performart – will assume the position of Treasurer of the Council. Headquartered in Brussels, Pearle* is characterized by strong activity in defending the interests of the artistic sector before the European Commission, with the Portuguese Association being a member of this network since 2017.
Francisca Carneiro Fernandes, who is representing the Association in Oslo, comments that “it is with great pride and a sense of responsibility that Performart accepts this challenge, which is an important milestone in the work that the Association has been developing for the promotion of the interests and rights of performing arts professionals”.
It should be remembered that Performart stands out for fighting the interests of the performing arts sector in Portugal, through collaboration between agents, entities, and individuals, promoting a union of efforts based on professionalization and claiming the recognition that the sector needs and deserves, within the scope of public policies and social awareness.
