Step by step, we visit a day in the life of Fernando Pessoa, in the first half of the century. XX, in the middle of December and with Christmas on the horizon.
The show takes place with narration by guitarist Bruno Chaveiro, fado singer Carlos Leitão and actor Joaquim Horta who, together, transport spectators to the environment of the city of Lisbon where the poet moved and inspired.
The starting and finishing point is his house in Campo de Ourique, where he lived the last 15 years of his life and where Casa Fernando Pessoa is today located. From dawn until the end of the day, the fictional circuit passes through the classic café “A Brasileira”, the Livraria “Bertrand” or “Licorista”, where it was the daily custom to drink a liqueur after lunch. In the encounters and disagreements of his daily life, there is still room for Ophelia, the only girlfriend he knows.
Regarding music, fado – between traditional and original – punctuates the entire show with arrangements that explore other sounds.
In addition to the viola and the Portuguese guitar, the accordion and percussion are always on stage and make the music permanently the basis for all the selected poetry.
The show is aimed at audiences aged 12 to 100 and aims to encourage everyone to, when leaving the room, seek out and discover the vast work of this unique poet.
