The festival returns to the stage at the Ruy Carvalho Auditorium, in Carnaxide, with six renowned international pianists and an audience, after an entirely online edition in 2020, due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The festival starts on June 27th with a recital by artistic director Teresa Palma Pereira, and ends on August 1st with one of the most renowned pianists in the world, Nicolai Lugansky.
The poster for this year’s edition also includes performances by pianists Grigory Gruzman (Russia), Jan Michiels (Belgium), Angela Cheng (Canada), and Suzana Bartal (Romania/France).
The Portuguese sound technician José Fortes will be the personality honored in this edition. In previous editions, the musician Mário de Carvalho, the pianist Jorge Moyano and the conductor José Atalaya were distinguished.
The festival also includes masterclasses aimed at young pianists, Portuguese and foreigners, and will distinguish, among them, the best performer in a contemporary work from the 20th or 21st centuries, succeeding the Beethoven prize awarded in 2020.
The initiative, from the Academy of Flor de Murta and the Municipality of Oeiras, has free entry, upon reservation.
Ticket reservations for the recitals can be made on the festival’s official website at www.fipoeiras.com.
Those who cannot or cannot follow the recitals live can do so online, as they will be broadcast through the official pages of the Municipality of Oeiras and FIPO on the Facebook social network.
The shows take place every Sunday, between June 27th and August 1st, always at 18:00.
