“Podia Ser” is the return to singles by the Portuguese singer and songwriter, Gabriela Couto, who, as she tells us, “is a song that translates what we feel when we meet someone – it’s a mix of emotions between the hope of having found our soul twin but at the same time a certain doubt because no one can predict the future, and it doesn’t always result in a happy ending.”
Gabriela Couto adds “When I write a song I always put something autobiographical, be it situations or emotions I’ve been through. In this case, doubts, disappointments but also the hope of crossing someone special along the way gave rise to the song.”
However, we must not think that Gabriela Couto’s taste for art is restricted to music. In addition to having learned to play the piano when young and a degree in jazz singing at ESMAE, the composer and singer also took an acting course. But as he tells us “… however my favorite art turned out to be music, thus dedicating myself to singing and composing. And recently I’ve also been doing the music production part of the songs which makes everything more personal and with a more own identity”. This taste for music did not happen because none of my parents were musicians, but “… since I was a little girl, I quickly showed a taste for watching movies and memorizing the songs that were part of it. My parents, noticing my passion, decided to enroll me in music classes. music and dance at age 6.”
