Polestar presented its new prototype, the Precept

Polestar today presented a new prototype, the Precept, which aims to give a closer idea of what the Volvo-based brand intends with the entry into the electric car market.

According to the statement by CEO Thomas Ingenlath, Precept was developed based on three foundations, namely sustainability, digital technology and design. This third point was especially taken into account in the prototype you can see above, with the brand showing that it has interesting ideas with which it is intended to stand out from the competition.

“Polestar has a vision: that sustainable materials can create new design opportunities while redefining premium, that technology can further close the gap between driver and car, and that design languages can (and should) always evolve. Polestar Precept brings that vision to life.

It’s not some sci-fi flight of fancy, however. The sustainable and recycled materials found in the Precept can already be produced. The design is futuristic yet realistic; the next step for Polestar, not a leap. The technology is from a future just around the corner, so close as to almost be the present. We’ve borrowed from tomorrow. Not fifty years from now.

It’s not a concept car. It’s a commitment car. A declaration of where we plan to go and what we plan to do. A rule to inform our future behaviour. “
