In November, the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (IPS) and the Polytechnic Institute of Macau (IPM) are promoting a conference where they propose to reflect on cooperation between Portuguese-speaking higher education institutions in the face of current global challenges.
The 11th Conference of the FORGES international network – Forum on Higher Education Management in Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions will take place between November 22nd and 26th, in a mixed format (online and in person), and the presence component is expected to take place on the campus Setúbal of the IPS, if the necessary public health conditions are met.
The debate, on the general theme “Cooperation in Higher Education in Portuguese-speaking Countries and Regions in the Face of Global Challenges”, is organized in plenary sessions and in specific parallel sessions, addressing issues such as Sustainability and Society; Teaching and Research; Access, Diversification and Internationalization; Digital Transformation; Policies and Financing; and Management, Leadership, Government and Quality. The communication proposals to be presented presuppose the submission of an extended abstract (between 350 and 500 words), until the next 30th of June.
Special sessions are also planned, subject to other themes considered relevant and mobilizing in the context of higher education in Portuguese-speaking countries and regions. Proposals for special sessions require the completion of a specific form, available on the conference page.
FORGES is an association whose main mission is to promote a network of study and research in the area of management and higher education policies in Portuguese-speaking countries. It involves more than 60 Portuguese-speaking higher education institutions, spread over four continents and seven countries, with the IPS being one of the seven associated Portuguese polytechnics.
