Viseu Archaeological Center and City History Museum offer an activity program for the youngest
Summer vacations are just around the corner and the Viseu António Almeida Henriques Archaeological Center and the City History Museum are challenging youngsters to participate in a diversified program of activities in July and August. creativity and fun, with new knowledge and learning “in loco”. There will be no lack of opportunities for children to “get to work” and put on the skin of explorers, archaeologists or writers!
The Archaeological Hub of Viseu António Almeida Henriques, through its Heritage Mediation and Education Service, has prepared a set of proposals that explore the sciences of Archeology and Heritage, through experimental workshops that simulate techniques and working methods in these areas of investigation. A “School of Archeology” will be installed in the Casa do Miradouro Gardens and its “students” will have the opportunity to discover how an excavation is done, how to study the remains of the past, and what we can learn from them, in a program consisting of 4 workshops.
At the City History Museum, games, exploratory visits, creative workshops, and observation and recording activities make up the summer offer for the little ones, who through these initiatives will be able to explore Viseu’s tiled heritage, its gardens, and the historic street Right.
