Pomadinha, one of the emerging rock bands from Porto, releases “Time”, its first song with lyrics, marking a new creative phase. With a cinematic sound, “Time” reflects on something as simple as it is urgent: time cannot be bought.
The song was born from a melody whistled in a hotel garage, evolving naturally during rehearsal until it became an emotional and raw anthem, as is the band’s trademark. The theme even became an inside joke — the band’s WhatsApp group was renamed “TTTTIIIIIIIMMMMMMEEEEE”, as a description of a mental bug.
The song was born from an idea by Marco Barbosa (guitarist), who composed the lyrics and the basic track, later developed together by the band. The production and recording were handled by Gonçalo Cabral, with mastering by Pedro Rafael Santos.
The release anticipates a week full of shows. The band will take the stage at ESAD (Matosinhos) on June 18th, at an end-of-school party organised by the student association. This will be followed by a concert at RCA Radioclube Agramonte (Porto) on June 20th – tickets are available here. The week ends with the final of Indie Talents – Indie Music Fest, at the Paredes Cultural Centre, on June 21st.

About Pomadinha:
Pomadinha is an instrumental rock band from Porto, with roots in the land and an eye towards the cosmos. They mix seventies psychedelia, progressive and a raw delivery that comes from long jam sessions and a friendship forged in the hallways of the Perosinho music school. The compositions began in a laundry room transformed into a rehearsal room and evolved into the current studio built by the band itself, somewhere between Sermonde and Perosinho in Gaia.
Formed by David Cruz (bass), Fernando Azeredo (keyboards), Marco Barbosa (guitar) and Miguel Alves (drums), the band debuted in 2022 with the single “Origens”, followed by the EP “Síndrome Pomadinha”, a raw manifesto about the dream of playing live. In 2024, they return with the single “Popó do Xano” and the EP “Hipocondria”.
Known as much for the intensity of their shows as for their surrealist aesthetic and unique sense of humour, Pomadinha wears boxers as a symbol of comfort on stage.
