The Ponte da Barca Folk Festival resists and takes place in a confined mode, but in person and, like the 2020 edition, it will be reduced to two concerts, this is how Rodrigo Leão presents itself and from Galicia to Guadi Galego, it will take place on July 31,
Limited to the current condition resulting from the pandemic condition, which does not allow for the celebration in the way that the Festival inhabited us, this reduced but strongly symbolic performance of the Festival compensates with the presentation of two bigger names and more representative of the best music made by both sides of the river Minho.
From a similar path, both appear in strong identity groups, creating from root music their projects rich in a unique conception, in the case of Rodrigo Leão the Sétima Legião and the Madredeus, and on the part of Guadi Galego the unavoidable Berrogüetto, iconic reference of Galicia.
Both musicians later evolved to solo careers, with a contemporaneity recognized and highlighted by successive achievements of recognition by critics and the public.
Rodrigo Leão, with an already quite significant amount of editions where he explored a lot of imaginaries and sowed collaborations with several Artists, presents on this new album entitled “O Method” from which comes a more intimate and more atmospheric concert, a concert that invites the audience to silence, to the tranquility where classical and electronic influences are more present and explored further accompanied by the acoustic piano that Rodrigo Leão will play for the first time in concerts.
In full phase of consecration in the neighboring country, since becoming a creator in her own name, Guadi Galego edited in 2020 her fifth work entitled “Seams” and yes, this title is very enlightening, given that the meticulous care that the artist is implicit in applies in the conception of music close to a pop universe, where the written word stands out in the themes that became the artist’s cause.
Both will occupy the stage set up in Terras da Nóbrega and present their latest albums.
