The 2024 edition of Porto Blues Fest returns on the 26th and 27th of July, once again, to the gardens of Palácio de Cristal and Concha Acústica.
In this seventh edition, started in 2017 and only interrupted in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we once again have some of the biggest national and international names in contemporary blues on stage, such as Little Orange & Mr. Shuffle (POR), Wax & Boogie feat Ivan Singh (ESP/AR) and Justina Lee Brown (CH) on July 26th and, the following day, Dixie Boys (POR), Dom Martin (IRL) and King Solomon Hicks (USA).
But, at Porto Blues Fest we don’t just live on live music…
… Also like in past editions, Porto Blues Fest is committed to Training through the Porto Blues Fest Scholarship in partnership with the Porto Guitar Academy, it will provide a young musician with a unique and unforgettable experience, participation in Little Steven Blues School in Notodden (Norway), where you will be able to learn, live and share experiences with 40 other young people from all over Europe.
In terms of training, through workshops such as the Porto Blues Fest Best Student Award, where the best student at the Porto Guitar Academy is offered the unique opportunity to share the stage with one of the bands that make up the festival’s lineup.
With regard to Sustainability (each person who will attend the festival will also make their contribution to the success of the reforestation mission of one hectare of forest, by purchasing their ticket they will be contributing €1, which will be donated to our partner, as well as highlighting products of national origin, contributing to the valorization of national supply chains: shorter, more environmentally friendly and more sustainable chains.
The promoters maintain the success stories of the Porto Blues Fest: As Estações dos Blues (concerts held at the Trindade metro station on July 25th). In addition to the usual restaurant and exhibition area (such as the Guitar Cigar Box and the sale of records and books).
However, this year, there are two more parallel activities to further enrich the 2024 edition of Porto Blues Fest: the Mini Porto Blues Fest (Blues concert integrated into the Children’s Day program on June 1st, led by students from the Porto Guitar Academy and, Porto Blues Fest goes to Bolhão (concert to promote the festival at Mercado do Bolhão on 25/0724).
