Porto Business School and Portugal Football School launch Executive Training

To develop the management of the football business

  • The finance and Strategy for the Football Business program are aimed at directors, executives, managers, and other professionals from football federations, national associations, leagues, and clubs.
  • The 1st edition of this training aims to provide technical support for decision making, risk assessment, and potential outcomes of those decisions oriented to the football business.

Porto Business School, a reference in the area of ​​training for executives in Portugal, and Portugal Football School, a school of the Portuguese Football Federation, whose core activity is football research, join forces to promote a program that deepens concepts of finance and strategies oriented to the football business.

Applications for the first edition are now open and the program will run between September 30 and November 12, lasting 48 hours. In total, there will be four sessions taught in Portuguese. The first and last sessions will take place at Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, and the two intermediate sessions at the Porto Business School campus, in Matosinhos.

With an innovative training methodology, this program aims to provide participants with the financial tools, economic organization, and strategic processes of a football club, which allow them to provide technical support for decision-making and assess the risks and potential outcomes of those decisions.

Students occupying the 20 available seats will have the opportunity to participate in lectures, debates, case studies, and analysis of best practices from expert faculty members, combined with sessions featuring executive and renowned speakers from football clubs and sports organizations of success, nationally and internationally.

The Program Management will be under the responsibility of Rui Padrão, Professor and Program Director at Porto Business School, Rui Couto Viana, Professor at Porto Business School, Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto, Doctor in Business Sciences and Master in Business Sciences specializing in Finance, and André Seabra, Director of the Escola de Futebol de Portugal. And it is intended for directors, executives, managers, and professionals from football federations, national associations, leagues, and clubs, as well as all those interested in assuming functions in the financial and strategic areas within their organizations.
