From July 2 to September 15, the operation will feature weekly direct flights, offering travellers from the North a comfortable and quick connection to one of the most attractive sun and beach destinations in the Mediterranean.

Djerba, which combines paradisiacal beaches with a unique cultural heritage, is one of Soltour’s major bets for next summer. The Tunisian island, known for its fine sands and clear waters, offers the ideal setting for those seeking sun and sea, but also a journey through history. Besides being a place of rest, it is an island with a long cultural heritage, dating back to antiquity. According to legend, Djerba corresponds to the island of the lotus eaters, where, in Homer’s “Odyssey,” Odysseus and his crew found refuge during their journey across the Mediterranean. More recently, Djerba was a setting in the “Star Wars” film saga.
“The Porto-Djerba operation was received with great enthusiasm in 2024, reflecting the growing demand from Portuguese travellers. This success is the result not only of the island’s attractiveness but also of our commitment to offer travel agencies packages that provide an unparalleled tourist experience. We are fully confident that, in 2025, this destination will continue to captivate Portuguese travellers. Soltour aims to consolidate this route, ensuring travellers a truly memorable and enriching experience,” says Luís Santos, Commercial Director of Soltour for Portugal and Spain.
One of the main attractions of Djerba is its golden sandy beaches, complemented by a renowned tourist infrastructure, providing a tranquil experience for summer vacations. But the island also stands out for its historical and cultural landmarks, such as the El Ghriba Synagogue, one of the oldest in the world, and the Fadhloun and Sidi Yati Mosques – remarkable examples of the region’s religious architecture. The Guellala Museum provides an immersion in the island’s artisanal traditions, such as pottery, one of Djerba’s oldest crafts.
Local cuisine is also one of the major attractions of the destination. Influenced by the various peoples who have passed through the region, such as Turks, French, and Greeks, the island’s cuisine is rich and varied. Typical dishes such as couscous, tagine, and brik are just a few examples of Djerba’s gastronomic diversity, which is prominently displayed in the various local markets filled with the aromas of spices, nuts, and herbs.
