Portucalense brings together 4 Portuguese women scientists of world reference

The Portucalense University invited 4 female scientists to what will be one of the most prestigious webinars with the participation of the greatest Portuguese authorities in the field of science worldwide.

The opening of the first webinar is the responsibility of Eugénia Cunha, Full Professor at the University of Coimbra, who will address topics that encompass forensic anthropology (what we can read about the bones of corpses).

On the second day, we will see the participation of the world’s greatest authority in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics with Manuela Veloso, Full Professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

On the third day, guests will be able to hear the Portuguese scientist most cited in the world in 2017 and 2018, Dr. Isabel Ferreira, currently Secretary of State for the Valorization of the Interior, who will address the issue of scientific training as a driver of technological and economic development of low-density territories.

On the last day, Ana-Paula Correia, Associate Professor with Aggregation at Ohio State University and a world reference on one of the current topics, will address the topic of distance learning.

The webinar will take place between the 7th and 10th of July, with the aim of demonstrating how it is possible to do science at the highest level, whether in Portugal or anywhere in the world.

“We are going to bring to these webinars great individuals from world science and with only Portuguese. Those who participate will surely experience a conference at the highest level of what is done in the world”, says Fernando Moreira, Full Professor and director of the UPT Science and Technology Department.
