Technology and Science are back on the agenda of Universidade Portucalense for the 4th time, with a cycle of free webinars entitled “A Cup of Tea with Scientists”, which will count, between the 22nd and 26th of March, with the contribution of the most prestigious professors and national researchers from partner institutions.
The purpose of the meetings is to respond to the main challenges of today’s society.

Day 22.03 – Biomedical Informatics and Data Science: current status and future perspectives – With José Machado, Associate Professor with Aggregation in the Department of Informatics at the University of Minho, Director of ALGORITMI, Director of the Doctoral Program in Biomedical Engineering, President of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society, Portuguese Chapter;
Day 23.03 – How to make cities technological through communications: the use case of the live technological laboratory in Aveiro – With Susana Sargento, Full Professor at the University of Aveiro and Senior Researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, Winner of the European competition EU-Women Innovation 2016 , Scientific Director of the CMU-Portugal Program;
Day 24.03 – Artificial Intelligence: Applications, Implications, Speculations – With Arlindo Oliveira, Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, He was president of Instituto Superior Técnico between 2012 and 2019, President of INESC, Non-executive director of Caixa Geral de Depósitos and Researcher at INESC-ID;
Day 25.03 – Ethical Machines – With Luís Moniz Pereira, retired Full Professor at the Informatics Department at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and integrated member of his NOVA, Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics;
Day 26.03 – Astrobiology and the origin of life – With Zita Martins, Associate Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon, Co-Director of the MIT-Portugal Program, member of the ESA ARIEL space mission, member of the “HAYABUSA2” space mission, the Japanese Space Agency (JAXA), the only Portuguese scientist in the ESA “F-class COMET INTERCEPTOR space mission, awarded for Science merit with the title of Officer of the Military Order of Sant’Iago da Espada;
