The International Museum Day is coming and the Portucalense University (UPT) will not let the date go by: a Seminar on Research and Intervention in Museological Heritage will be organized, conducted by the Department of Tourism, Heritage and Culture, Master in Artistic Heritage, Conservation and Restoration, of the UPT.
“The future of museums: recovering and reimagining” is the theme for this year. Promoted by ICOM – International Council of Museums, since 1977, the initiative mobilizes thousands of museums around the world, as well as other types of institutions, with the aim of raising awareness that museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enriching cultures and developing mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.
Thus, the seminar in digital format, through the colibri-Zoom system, will be given by two guests, presenting in detail the Route of the Romanesque, through its Director, Rosário Correia Machado, and the Museum of Santa Casa da Misericórdia do Porto, by José Ferreira e Silva, responsible for the area of studies and research at MMIPO.
The event will take place on the 20th of May, between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm, with Patrícia Remelgado as moderator, and Fátima Matos Silva, Coordinator of the Master in Artistic Heritage, Conservation and Restoration to chair the opening of the session.
