Portugal beat Serbia by 2-1 at Bonfim

The Portuguese women’s football team received at the Estádio do Bonfim in Setúbal, the Serbia team and 2-1, in a European group H qualifying game for the 2023 World Cup.

The Portuguese opened the scoring by Ana Borges, in the 28th minute, with the Serbs drawing in added time in the first half, by Nina Matejic, in the second half in the 52nd minute, Dolores Silva scored the Portuguese victory with a penalty.

Portugal remains second in the group with seven points, two behind group leaders Germany, world champions in 2003 and 2007, followed by Turkey with four points, and Serbia, Israel and Bulgaria are still without any points.

Germany is the favourite to win the group, with the runners-up being able to compete in the “play-off”.
