The Portuguese beach soccer team beat Belarus today on penalties after a five-goal draw at the end of regular time in a pre-World Cup qualifying round.
In a match of three periods of 20 minutes each, the ‘team of quinas’ found a strong replica of the Belarusian team, which imposed a draw to five goals at the end of regular time, only undone in the penalty shoot-out in which Portugal took the best by completing four against three of the opponent.
The five Portuguese goals scored in regular time were by Belchior twice, Rui Coimbra, Madjer and Rui Brilhante.
The Portuguese national team will meet Belarus again on Tuesday, at the stage in Sesimbra until Wednesday, in preparation for the 2010 World Cup to be held in Paraguay from November 21 to December 1, 2019 and will play in group D the teams from Brazil, Nigeria and Oman.
