Portugal face Iceland, Lithuania and Israel in the qualifiers for the European Handball Championship

After the historic sixth place in 2020, the Portuguese team will qualify for a new final stage if it stays in the top two of the group or is one of the four best third among the eight groups.

The matches will be on November 4 or 5, November 7 or 8, January 6 or 7, 2021, January 9 or 10, April 28 or 29 and May 2.

Portugal looks for the seventh presence in the final, after the 12th and last place in the first edition (1994), which it organized, from the seventh of 2000, from the ninth of 2002, from the 14th of 2004, from the 15th of 2006 and sixth of the last edition, in Austria, Norway and Sweden.

The hosts Hungary and Slovenia are qualified, Spain, as the title holder, and Croatia, as the last runners-up finalist.
