Portugal faces Slovenia at the end of May

The Portuguese football team will face Slovenia on May 31, in a game of preparation for the Euro2020, in Ljubljana, which will be the first-ever between the two teams, the Slovenian federation announced today.

The challenge, to be held at the Stozice Stadium, marks the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the association of Slovenia, a country that was left out of the European Championship, after finishing the qualifying round in fourth place in group G, with 14 points.

In addition to the Slovenian national team, the team coached by Fernando Santos has scheduled another game of a particular character, against Spain, five days later, in Madrid, at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

At Euro2020, the ‘quinas’ team, champion in title, will face, in Group F, Germany and France and a winning team from the competition’s play-off phase, which will take place between June 12th and 12th July.
