Portugal Fashion starts farm and makes 33 fashion shows at the Porto Customs

The 44th edition Fall / Winter 2019-20 starts next Thursday at the Customs House of Porto, and 33 fashion shows are planned over four days, with the novelties dedicated to Portuguese children’s fashion.

Source of Portugal Fashion (PF) advanced that in this 44th edition one of the novelties was the ‘Portugal Kids FW powered by ModaPortugal’, with two parades that will occupy all the morning of the last day of the fashion event, March 17th.

The kidswear segment will thus integrate for the first time the official calendar of the event, which reflects the desire of Portugal Fashion to embrace the maximum subsector of the national fashion chain,” told the organization’s source.

In October 2018, the director general of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), Paula Morais, advanced that there would be a “footbridge dedicated to children’s and kids fashion“, with brands and creators of children’s fashion.

The last day ends with the parade of the pair of creators Marques’Almeida – which debuted in the previous edition -, scheduled for 2:00 pm, at Oporto Customs, followed by 3:00 pm by the new autumn-winter collection 2019/2020 of ‘designer’ Alexandra Moura, Carla Bridges (16:00). The designer David Catalán is the chosen one to close the last day of the 44th edition of the PF.

The start of the first day of the 44th edition is scheduled for 3:00 pm in the ‘Bloom’ area of Alfândega do Porto, a platform dedicated to students and young fashion designers, where they will parade the works of Modatex students and as will the collections of Ashma Karki, Daniela Pereira, Mara Flora, Maria Meira, Rita Sá and Sofia Silva, in a total of ten young designers.

The first day ends with parades by the creator Hugo Costa (22:00) and the creator Maria Gambina (23:00), who returned to the parades in 2018 with the spring/summer 2019 collection christened “Construction“, after five years away of the catwalks.

On the second day of PF, Friday, March 15, the highlight will be the new collections of the next cold season of three internationally recognized Portuguese designers, with the night to open with the parade of Diogo Miranda (21.30), followed by Luis Buchinho (22:30) and, closing the alignment, Miguel Vieira (23:30), who already presented his new collection in January in Milan (Italy).

Friday’s day opens at 3:00 pm with the new collection of young creators Inês Trocado and Sara Maia, which started at Bloom, followed by the presentation of the new coordinates of Estelita Mendonça, a creator who also started at Bloom Space.

At 5:00 p.m., the presentation of the Sophia Kah brand, by designer Ana Teixeira de Sousa, whose family with a tradition in the textile sector is from the Felgueiras area (Porto), is scheduled to feature the clients of the artistic world such as the actress Keira Knightley and the singers Nelly Furtado and Florence Welch.

Following are the fashion shows of the designer Katty Xiomara and the brands Pé de Chumbo and TM Teresa Martins.

On Saturday, March 16, the day is dedicated mainly to the footwear sector, with the parade of the creator Luís Onofre (23:30) closing the night, after an afternoon dedicated to the collections of the brands Fly London, Lemon Jelly, Nobrand and Ambitious, among others.

The designer Nuno Baltazar opens the third day of the PF, with the parade scheduled for 14:00 and, at 16:00, it is the turn of the designer, Susana Bettencourt, to show their new coordinates.

In addition to the parades is also the ‘Brand Up showroom’, with clothing, footwear, jewellery, accessories, leather goods and lifestyle products.

Portugal Fashion – a project sponsored by the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), developed in partnership with the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Association (ATP) – is funded by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020.
