Portugal guarantees gold and silver in the World Cup of acrobatic gymnastics
Competition took place in Belgium. Following is the qualifying round for the European Championship.
Portugal won the gold medal in women’s pairs in the finals of the World Cup of acrobatic gymnastics in Belgium, and silver in the men’s groups.
Rita Ferreira and Ana Rita Teixeira, from Acro Clube da Maia, beat all the competition with the combined exercise, with 28,320 points, which were worth the Circuit of World Cups.
The men’s group, composed of Henrique Piqueiro, Henrique Silva, Frederico Silva and Miguel Silva, also from the Acro Clube da Maia, presented, similarly, a combined exercise, only surpassed by China. Nevertheless, it gained victory in the Circuit of World Cups.
Bárbara Sequeira, Francisca Maia and Francisca S. Maia, also from Acro Clube da Maia, reached the fifth place with 28,470 points, while Mariana Candeias, Raquel Ferreira and Madalena Cavilhas, from the Portuguese Gymnasium, obtained 22,470 points.
Finally, the mixed pair of Bruno Tavares and Carolina Dias of Acro Clube da Maia, with the combined exercise, reached 28,010 points and secured the fifth place. On the horizon is now the qualifying round for the UEFA European Championship to be held in October in Holon, Israel.
