Portugal loses to the US in women’s football
The Portuguese women’s soccer team lost on Thursday by 1-0 to its US counterpart, world champion in title, in a private meeting, played in Houston, Texas.
Samantha Mewis’s 76th-minute header, following a corner from the left by Christen Press, earned the North Americans the victory.
On the tour to the United States, the team led by Francisco Neto will play again on Sunday, against Nigeria.
