Portugal ends World Junior and Under-23 canoeing with two medals

On Sunday, Pedro Casinha was crowned junior world champion in K1 200 meters, while on Saturday Beatriz Fernandes had won the silver medal in C1 500, at the same level.

Portugal participated in this second in seven more finals, of which stood out fifth place in the mixed C2 500, with Martim Azevedo and Beatriz Fernandes, still three seconds away from the podium.

A seventh place and three eighth in junior finals and two eighth in under-23 completed the day’s results.

At the High Performance Center of Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal was represented by 45 canoeists, 26 males and 19 females. The competition brought together around 850 kayakers from 55 countries.
