Portugal beats Switzerland in the Handball World Cup (33-29)

Portugal beat Switzerland, taking another step forward in the Egypt World Cup, now in group 3 in the main round. The national team won by 33-29 and is on the quarter-final route, having six points, but France and Norway will still play.

Highlights of the team coached by Paulo Pereira were Victor Iturriza (7 goals), Fábio Magalhães (6 goals) and also goalkeeper Humberto Gomes, 43, who played the second half with several saves. On the Swiss side, Schmidt, who scored 11 goals and was even chosen as the best on the field, stood out.

The game started very evenly, with the Swiss always managing to draw and at the interval Portugal won by 17-15. After losing to Norway, Portugal were at a disadvantage in the head-to-head and still have to beat France on Sunday to qualify for the quarter-finals.
