Already qualified in the previous round, Portugal confirmed the isolated triumph in the group, with a new victory in the sixth and final round of the qualification phase, in a match in which they already won at 3-0 at half-time, with goals from João Matos (one minute) and by Fábio Cecílio (nine and 15). Silvestre Ferreira, at 23 minutes, closed the count.
The formation of the ‘quinas’ will be present for the 10th time, ninth in a row, in the final stage of a European championship, to which it arrives as holder of the title, after the victory of 2018 (3-2 after extra time to Spain, in Slovenia).
Jorge Braz’s men ended the group with 14 points, against 11 from Poland, second, and eight from the Czech Republic, third. Norway was in the last position of the ‘poule’, without any points.
The final phase of the 12th European Futsal Championship takes place in the Netherlands, between 19 January and 6 February 2022.
