Portugal played yesterday with its Qatar counterpart and won 3-0 with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo, José Fonte and André Silva, in a game with three debutants in the national team.
This Saturday, the Portuguese team hosted Qatar, who won 3-0, at the Algarve stadium, on a night that marks the debut of 3 players and some tests, thinking of next Tuesday’s match against Luxembourg.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who broke another record, player with more internationalization in Europe, nothing seems impossible for the best in the world, José Fonte, scored for the first time for Portugal, and André Silva closed the count.
Fernando Santos made changes to the team, debuting Diogo Costa and Matheus Nunes, one of the best as well as Benfica player João Mário, Ronaldo, started by wasting two opportunities, but with a well-aimed shot in the 37th minute opened the scoring.
The second goal, scored in the second half by debutant José Fonte, João Mário scored a free-kick, William Carvalho headed in, the Qatar keeper defended it forward, and José Fonte did not waste, scoring his first goal for Portugal.
Diogo Dalot scored again but did not count because the full-back dominated the ball with his arm, but the third would eventually appear after 90 minutes, Rafael Leão crossed from the left and André Silva, with his head, put the ball in the back of the net from Qatar.
Portugal will now play next Tuesday with Luxembourg, this one counting for the qualification of the Mundial’2022.
