Portugal is once again awarded

World Travel Awards

The tourism “Oscars” once again reward Portugal, with an emphasis on the Algarve and the Islands, but it was awarded several prizes at the 28th edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA).

At the 28th WTA, it delivered over 25 European awards to Portugal, 21 national categories, including “Best Adventure Tourism Destination” for the Autonomous Region of the Azores, “Best Beach Destination” for the Algarve, and “Best Island Destination” for the Autonomous Region of Madeira, but also the awards for “Best Cruise Terminal” for the Cruise Terminal in Lisbon and the “Best Tourist Authority” for Turismo de Portugal.

The Paiva Walkways won two awards, “Best Adventure Tourism Attraction” and “Best Tourism Development Project“.

The prizes awarded to Portugal were an online vote, between the public and tourism and travel professionals around the world.
