Portugal wins for the 19th time the League of Nations of roller hockey

[dropcap type=”background”]T[/dropcap]he Portuguese national team of roller hockey won the League of Nations for the 19th time in Montreux, Switzerland, beating Argentina 5-3 in the final of the 68th edition of the competition.
In the Salle Omnisports du Pierrier, the formation of Portugal scored first and reached the interval to win 3-1, but the Argentines restored equality, before João Rodrigues, FC Barcelona player, solved with an ‘encore’.
Henrique Magalhães gave Portugal early advantage, Rafa extended it, the Benfica player Lucas Ordoñez reduced, of direct free, but, before the interval, Gonçalo Alves restored the advantage of two goals of the Portuguese selection.
At the beginning of the second half, Ordoñez scored 2 times, completing the hat-trick, and tied the game, for João Rodrigues to settle with two goals in the last five minutes, the first of free-kick and the second with the national team in ‘power play ‘.
The Portuguese team ‘avenged’, thus, Argentina’s snub in 2017 final and added a fifth successive victory in the final six editions, after the victories in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015. In total there are 19 trophies, compared to 16 Spain, the last in 2007.
In the other games of the day, highlighting Italy, who won third place, with Angola 7-1, with ‘bis’ by Davide Banini and Francesco Compagno.
France, on the other hand, finished fifth after beating Spain 4-2 and Montreux finished seventh, beating Switzerland 4-2.
